About Us

Working Together to Reach Your Greatest Potential

Since 1991, Family Resources of Greater Nebraska, P.C. has been dedicated to their mission of providing quality behavioral health services to the people of Greater Nebraska. This mission is rooted in the belief and value of family systems, and honoring the healing power of relationships.

Our founder, Seanne Larson Emerton, received postgraduate training in family systems while employed with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. She was trained by Jamshed Morenas through the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center, who himself had trained with Salvador Minuchin, the founding father of family systems therapy. Through the years the vision for Family Resources has expanded to include working with individuals desiring an understanding of their family systems, as well as business and corporate systems wanting to facilitate healthy workplace environments.

Initially focused on home-based therapy, Family Resources quickly grew to embrace other practitioners of like mind and mission. In early 1992, Seanne began subletting office space from a dietician who then officed in the same building Family Resources now owns. Three other therapists soon joined Family Resources and the business relocated to office space at 706 W. Koenig Street, Grand Island. Support staff also came on board during that time and remain employed with the business today. Three additional therapists were hired and in early 1994 the business moved across the courtyard to larger space in the same complex. Expansion continued and two years later, on March 30 1996, the business moved to 3214 Langenheder Street at the intersection of Highways 281 and 34. It was during early 1996 that Family Resources also developed and administered Family Resources EAP, serving seven local businesses with an employee assistance program. More staff were hired and the EAP has now grown to serve over 50 businesses, hospitals and city governments nationwide.

On November 1, 2004, Family Resources purchased the building where they currently reside at 3532 West Capital Avenue. Staff moved in on November 19, 2004. To better serve their clients, a York satellite office was opened in the spring of 2006 and a Kearney office, employing two therapists, was opened in the fall of 2006.

Today Family Resources of Greater Nebraska, P.C. employs eighteen plus affiliate practitioners nationwide to serve its EAP. Its vision and mission remains to provide quality behavioral health services to individuals, families and businesses in “working together to reach greatest potential.”
