Odalys is honored to be a team member with Family Resources of Greater Nebraska, P.C. She was born in Havana, Cuba where she completed most of her academic studies through the University of Medicine. Odalys graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in December, 2007, with her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling. She recently joined Family Resources at 3532 W. Capital Avenue following several years of experience working with immigrant families by assisting them in the process of adjustment to a new culture as Executive Director of the Multi Cultural Coalition.
Odalys enjoys working with individuals, couples and families. As a counselor, she is very interested and passionate about some of the issues facing multicultural counseling and different areas of multicultural competence. Odalys is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
Odalys was chosen as the 2008 Woman of Distinction by the YWCA. She is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow and of Grassroots Leadership Development Program of the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute. Her community involvement includes the Grand Island Independent Advisory Board, Goodwill Industries Executive Board of Directors and the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce/Multicultural Taskforce.
Odalys’ family includes her husband of over 20 years, their son who is a freshman in college and one German short-hair. They enjoy vacations in their beloved Cuba, and spending time with family and friends.
