Rachael is very excited to be joining Family Resources and the Grand Island community, having moved recently from Lincoln with her husband of nine years. Rachael is a Nebraska native with ties to Seward, Norfolk and Ravenna.
Rachael's approach to therapy draws from client-centered, interpersonal and time-limited dynamic theories. She believes in working collaboratively with clients and capitalizing on client strengths to bring about personal growth and change. Rachael believes in providing a safe and non-judmental enviornment where clients can reflect on and examine various life concerns.
Rachael has generalist training and experience working with adolescents and adults. Particular areas of intrest inlcude: depression, anxiety, women's issues and women's health, GLBTQ issues and gender identity, relationship and intimacy concerns, self-esteem and stress management.
Rachael also teaches a course in counseling assessment at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the Counseling and School Psychology Program. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, home renovation projects, travel, movies and spending time with family and friends.
