Seanne Larson Emerton, Owner, Therapist • seanne@family-resources.net • Ext. 13

Seanne founded Family Resources in 1991 with a passion to use her family systems training to serve the Greater Nebraska area and beyond. Since then, she has counseled, coached, and facilitated hundreds of individuals, families, and organizations locally, regionally, and nationally. She brings a variety of skills to her work, including expertise in working with couples, helping clients grow emotional intelligence, strengthening clients’ internal resources, and helping organizations create and sustain healthy workplace environments. She delights in the co-creation of services Family Resources offers with the great group of colleagues with whom she works.
Seanne has a special interest in spirituality and health and is also a Certified Life-cycle Celebrant, specializing in the art of creating personalized ceremonies. (See www.ceremonydesignedforyou.com and www.celebrantinstitute.org for more information.)
Seanne enjoys contributing to her community and has served as President of the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska and for Stuhr Museum Foundation. She currently serves as a board member for the Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Seanne is a board member of the Nebraska Association for Private Practice Therapists and the Nebraska Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Marcie is responsible for taking new client referrals, collecting payments, processing insurance, and contacting affiliates for our out-of-area EAP clients. She enjoys working with a talented and unique set of individuals and interacting with clients, especially the children.
“I come from a family of six children - I am number five. I am an aunt to 11 nieces and nephews, all age seven and younger, with another one on the way. I have a beautiful little girl and a wonderful fiancée. My hobbies include playing volleyball and cards, watching movies, and taking pictures. Also, I now enjoy going for a nice motorcycle ride on any beautiful day.”

Heather works with individuals and groups to educate them on how to make meaningful decisions towards their health and well-being. She helps people set and accomplish their health-related goals by helping them attain more energy, reduce cravings, and explore new foods. In addition, Heather helps clients discover how the “primary food” in their life – such as relationships, career, spirituality, and exercise – plays a part in their overall health. She enjoys working with people who share a common passion to help others be their best selves.

Pam provides individual and family therapy for adjustment to life's challenges and transitions, relationships, moods, anxiety, and other mental health issues. She is also involved in developing Nebraska brain injury resources, as well as parenting skill building. Pam has fifteen years’ experience in Vocational Rehabilitation and has attended numerous workshops focused on the Cognitive Behavioral approach and Positive Psychology. Pam enjoys being part of a fantastic team of individuals who are client-focused and enthusiastic in their mission to help individuals and families become emotionally, spiritually, and physically healthy. “We don't compete in what we do but instead in how we can support one another in our mission.”

Leanne is a therapist working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. During her education, she also completed an on-site internship. Leanne specializes in assisting clients with eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. She works day and evening hours to provide clients with appointments times that fit their schedules. Leanne genuinely enjoys working with clients in an outpatient setting and is finding that she enjoys working with many different ages of clients.
Leanne enjoys Family Resources because “the environment is ‘family-like’. We are encouraged by Seanne to be our own person and the positive support is very evident.”

Carlene works with individuals, families, and couples who are covered by Employee Assistance Programs, insurances, and Medicaid. She helps them arrive at a place where they can be at peace with themselves and each other. To aid in her experience, Carlene had several years of post-grad, extern training in Family Therapy with Jamshed Morenas from Philadelphia Child Guidance Center. She is also trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has attended a number of workshops about grieving.
Carlene enjoys working at Family Resources because she loves the spirit of support and cooperation that exists between all the employees. “I love our building which, I think, gives a message of strength and safety to all who enter it. I especially am energized by working with couples.”
“I taught in an elementary school the first 14 years of my career and worked as a therapist for the Health and Human Services system for 20 years. I grew up in Kansas and spent 16 years in Missouri before coming to Nebraska. I love to sew and try new recipes.”

Chris is licensed in both mental health and substance addictions. She also provides presentations to our EAP businesses and other professional groups. Chris is also responsible for chemical dependency evaluations. She has training in EQ-i Emotional Intelligence, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Criminogenics (working with probation/parole), addictions, and mental illness.
Chris enjoys the variety of people she meets as a therapist at Family Resources. She believes that everyone's story is important and one of the most healing things is to simply be heard. She loves being part of the Family Resources team and is continually inspired by her coworkers. Chris is especially passionate about working with individuals who struggle with substance abuse and dependence issues.
“I have been married to a wonderful guy for over 35 years and have three talented adult daughters and (soon-to-be) three sons-in-law. I love the summer months and outdoor activities, especially gardening, camping, and jet skiing. I also enjoy traveling, reading, and playing guitar as a worship team member at my church."

Jessica McCaslin graduated with her degree in community counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005. She completed an internship at the YRTC-Geneva and then at the I Believe in Me Ranch in Kearney, where she took a position as a therapist. Later in 2006, Jessica moved to Broken Bow and opened a private practice in counseling. Her practice focused on helping youth, adolescents, and their families, although she also worked with adults.
Jessica also coaches junior high track and field in the spring. She resides in Broken Bow with her husband and two children. Jessica is excited about joining FRGN and looks forward to having access to a broad consultation base and working with the knowledgeable therapists and staff.

Lisa has worked in Phoenix, Arizona, as a child protective services case manager and also as a guidance counselor. She has received meditation training from Peacemakers and has also been trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. At Family Resources, Lisa counsels on evenings and Saturdays, giving her clients flexibility in their busy schedules.

As a therapist at Family Resources, Odalys is able to provide a truly unique service: She is Grand Island’s only Spanish-speaking therapist. Because of her bilingual skills (English & Spanish), she has the privilege of working with Spanish-only speaking clients and their families. Odalys also has a contract at the Hall County Department of Corrections as their Mental Health Provider, which gives her the opportunity to work with a very challenging and unique population.
Odalys loves her coworkers at Family Resources, as well as its leadership.
“I'm originally from Cuba and moved to the United States in 1995 as a political refugee. I didn't know one word in English when I came and today I hold a master’s degree! So, if I did it, my clients can too! I enjoy every aspect of my profession and I have a profound admiration for all the people I serve.”

Joni is the Chief Operating Officer and a therapist. As COO, Joni supports the work of the company's Owner/President focusing on the establishment and optimization of day-to-day operations in the company. Joni can be found in both the Grand Island and the Kearney offices throughout the week. As a therapist, Joni’s focus is providing professional development, parenting groups, and other specialized groups utilizing a solution-focused approach. She has many experiences to aid her education: Zenger-Miller Frontline Leadership Facilitator past certification; COPSystem (Career Occupational Preference System) assessment administration certification; Active Parenting Series Group Leader experience; PrePare: Crisis Intervention & Recovery certification; and "A Time to Heal" Breast Cancer Survivors Therapeutic Group Program Facilitator certification. Joni has nearly 15 years of management experience in both general and mental healthcare settings with a focus on fiscal and program operations. She earned her Master’s of Business Administration degree at the University of Nebraska in Kearney and then went into the counseling field, completing a Community Counseling internship with Family Resources in Kearney and with Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney (IPRehab, serving stroke and medical trauma patients; and Cancer Center, co-facilitating the breast cancer survivors group).
Joni’s favorite thing about Family Resources is working with such kind and caring professionals in an environment that supports her work in "helping others create their BEST life!"

Linda is a licensed therapist who works to assist clients to decrease the disturbance related to past trauma. She is a family systems therapist who brings a variety of skills to her practice. Her specialty includes using Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy that is very effective in the treatment of trauma. She is able to utilize Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to strengthen internal resources, improve affect tolerance, and reduce disturbing emotions surrounding previously experienced traumas. She is also a member of the Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) International Association. Linda also specializes in Emotional Intelligence. She has conducted seminars in many areas associated with Emotional Intelligence and is certified to administer and interpret the EQ-I instrument.
Linda enjoys the independence and flexibility of working at Family Resources.

Judy has been our Employee Assistance Program Administrator since December 2002. She works directly with our business clients, contracting EAP services for their employees and families. Judy enjoys being able to assist people and businesses in getting the help they need.

Tracy specializes in working from a solution-focused and strength-based approach, serving children, teens, adults, and families. Tracy received training from and is now part of the Critical Intervention Stress Management (CISM) team, as well as the State of Nebraska CISM team. Tracy also has eight years of experience working as a psychiatric social worker, serving individuals who have persistent mental health issues.
Tracy feels very blessed to be working with an amazing team of colleagues in a very supportive and nurturing environment.

Ryan specializes in how to handle oppositional, defiant children, as well as drug and alcohol abuse. He works with kids with emotional issues, families dealing with stress and upheaval, married couples in crisis, divorcing couples, and drug and alcohol issues for adults and teens.
