Dr. Carlson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Mo., and her internship and residency at Park Center, Inc., in Fort Wayne, Ind. She currently specializes in Health Psychology including Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Her primary clinical interests include insomnia, weight loss, chronic pain, smoking cessation and increasing motivation for behavioral change. She has a strong interest in integrative medicine, including complementary and alternative forms of treatment. Dr. Carlson has made numerous professional and local presentations on topics such as sleep management, multidisciplinary pain management, the art of self-care, successful step-parenting and the benefits of healthy relationships. Dr. Carlson also completed a post-graduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy and was published in Metro Woman Magazine in an article regarding marriage and health.
Dr. Carlson is originally from Gothenburg, Neb., and currently lives in Grand Island with her husband. She enjoys time with her family, listening to music, spending time outdoors, exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Carlson is passionate about helping others improve their overall health and quality of life.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association, including the Division of Health Psychology, and the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
