EAP Goals

Family Resources EAP is a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program designed to improve the personal and professional lives of the employees and family members of your business or organization. We provide confidential assessment and professional counseling to your employees and their families.

Employers know that a wide range of personal problems can affect an employee's job performance and productivity, and strain relationships with co-workers. The most common personal concerns within the workplace include:

  • Stress and Depression
  • Substance abuse
  • Grief Issues
  • Financial Difficulties
  • Parenting Issues
  • Marital/Relationship Issues

Effective employee assistance service can provide early intervention and short-term problem resolution of these concerns. In addition, the employer often benefits in other ways:

  • Reduced employee absenteeism
  • Decreased use of sick leave
  • Improved communication by and with co-workers
  • Reduced healthcare expenditures
  • Happier and healthier employees
  • Reduced employee turnover
  • Increased productivity

Family Resources EAP Services are provided by licensed professional therapists, who are trained to deal with behavioral and workplace issues by providing solution-focused counseling tailored to specific needs.

What does an EAP include?

An EAP is a benefit to employees and their family members who seek services for a variety of work and/or personal problems. In addition to four therapy and/or assessment sessions per contract year for each employee and their family members, a contract may include:

  • Additional phone sessions
  • 24-hour emergency telephone access to a licensed mental health professional
  • Management consultation
  • Employee orientation
  • Behavioral health related in-service opportunities.

Additional services include on-site critical incident stress debriefing services for traumatic incidents in or involving the workplace.

How can an EAP be useful?

An EAP is an added benefit to employees dealing with personal and family-related problems in a confidential setting. This leads to more content and productive employees, less sick leave or leave time, and less need for new hires. And as issues are effectively dealt with in the EAP, insurance claims are reduced and insurance rates remain manageable.
